About the Doxa SUB 300T Clive Cussler Collection

Clive Cussler & Doxa

The father of underwater fiction, Clive Cussler and his novels were a perfect way to get acquainted with the life under the oceans. Today, his novels have created a legacy and especially amongst the admirers of Doxa. The protagonist of Cussler’s novels, Dirk Pitt wore a SUB 300T during his missions.

Features

The Doxa SUB 300T Clive Cussler collection is a set of special edition timepieces that features a handmade dial. The dial displays a vintage compass and a case that is made with steel which creates an illusion of used metal. On the dial, there is a date window at the 3 o’clock marker. What makes this window unique is that the numbers 7, 15, and 31 are marked in red, depicting Cussler’s birthday. Borrowed from the SUB 300T, this special edition also features a helium escape valve. Clive Cussler also founded NUMA (National Underwater and Marine Agency) which is responsible for finding more than 72 shipwrecks. The names of these shipwrecks are engraved on the caseback. Apart from the features, all the earnings from these special editions will be donated to NUMA.

Movement

Powering this special edition is the workhorse, the Sellita SW 200-1. Designed on the basis of the ETA 2824-2, the movement is further decorated by Doxa. The automatic movement inside this collection provides a power reserve of approximately 38 hours while vibrating at 28,800 vph.
