About the Carl F. Bucherer Patravi Collection
Patravi-A Resilient Timekeeper
In 2001, Carl F. Bucherer went through some restructuring. During that restructuring, the Carl F. Bucherer Patravi collection was released. The Patravi collection gained positive fame primarily due to the Patravi TravelTec, a COSC-certified chronograph. In 2005, Carl F. Bucherer filed a patent for the monopusher mechanism from the TravelTec which helped display three time zones parallelly.
The Patravi ScubaTec
Launched in 2013, the Patravi ScubaTec became Carl F. Bucherer’s first and only diving watch. From a uni-directional rotating bezel to a protected crown, the ScubaTec is a robust diving watch. The ScubaTec is also equipped with a date window at the 3 o’clock marker. The Patravi ScubaTec also employ various special editions to the series such as the ScubaTec Maldives, the ScubaTec Black Manta, and the ScubaTec SFA. Few of the timepieces under the series are also equipped with an automatic helium valve.
The Patravi TravelTec
The TravelTec was first introduced in 2005 that displayed three time zones and this was coupled with a robust chronograph too. The TravelTec became the face of the Patravi collection and has been a mainstay of it since then. Equipped with a rather busy dial, it takes some time to really understand how this GMT works. The chronographs are squeezed inside the dial with a running seconds sub-dial on the 3 o’clock marker, the 12-hour counter at the 6 o’clock marker, and the 30-minute chronograph on the 9 o’clock marker. These chronographs are controlled by two pushers that are above and under the protected crown. Now, we dive into the triple time zones that are displayed on the dial. The outermost ring displays the second time zone while the local time is displayed by the innermost ring fitted with index markers. The third time zone is displayed by a 24-hour ring over the index marker. This sums up the mechanical acumen of the TravelTec but this is further expanded with the Patravi TravelTec FourX limited edition. The TravelTec FourX is equipped with a skeletonised dial that displays the robust movement on the dial with the three-time zones and the chronographs.
