About the Breitling Classic AVI Collection
The Breitling Classic AVI collection celebrates the 70th anniversary of the AVI Co-Pilot, a watch known for its aviation history. First introduced in 1953 as the Ref. 765 AVI, it had a special 12-hour rotating bezel for measuring flight times. This design was very practical for pilots, allowing them to use the chronograph for calculations. The AVI Co-Pilot quickly became an essential tool for aviators. 70 years later, Breitling honoured this legacy with their Classic AVI collection of watches for men.
A Mosaic Design
The Breitling Classic AVI collection blends vintage and modern styles, featuring versatile cases that honour legendary WWII planes. The P-51 Mustang comes in stainless steel or 18-carat red gold with a black dial and either a leather strap or matching bracelet. The Vought F4U Corsair has a blue dial and tone-on-tone chronograph counters. The Curtiss Warhawk on the other hand, features a green dial, white counters, and red accents. Meanwhile, The Mosquito model offers a black ceramic bezel and a black dial with white chronograph counters. Each watch in this collection also includes an engraved image of the aircraft on the back.
Features That Stand Out
The Classic AVI collection from Breitling seamlessly combines functionality with sophistication. Each model is powered by the COSC-certified Breitling calibre 23 and a 48-hour power reserve. The chronograph functionality includes central chronograph seconds hands, 30-minute and 12-hour counters, and a date display catering to everyday needs and complex calculations. Additionally, these Breitling watches are equipped with a screw-down crown and pushers for enhanced durability and water resistance. Each watch in the collection is designed to be functional and stylish, with large, legible Arabic numerals and a well-balanced layout that ensures easy readability, even in the most demanding conditions.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
Breitling's iconic chronograph movement, a cornerstone of their timepieces, is built on the reliable ETA 7750 base. This mechanism allows you to accurately measure elapsed time with a six-nine-12 counter display. Various iterations of this movement feature date and day/date complications, although the majority of B13 models only indicate the date. Powering some of the watches in Breitling's most distinguished collections such as the Chronomat, Avenger, Superocean, Superocean Heritage, Colt, Navitimer, Premier, Aviator, and more.
