About the Bovet BOVET by Pininfarina Collection
In 2010, Pascal Raffy and Paolo Pininfarina forged a partnership based on shared values and a vision for the future, blending Bovet's traditional openworked watchmaking with the performance-oriented design ethos of Pininfarina — the iconic automobile design studio. Unlike most private labels, this collaboration aimed for an active and equal alliance. Over 14 years, Bovet and Pininfarina have unveiled several groundbreaking timepieces. With each creation, this enduring partnership has upheld Bovet's heritage while embodying Pininfarina's spirit of innovation and pioneering luxury.
Ottantasei
Mr. Pascal Raffy prioritised lightness, both in luminosity and weight. This emphasis is evident in the Ottantasei. It carries an exclusive winding system and patented spherical differential that allows fewer crown turns for winding compared to conventional mechanical watches. The timepiece focuses on three key elements: energy, time display, and the regulating organ – Bovet's patented double-sided flying tourbillon – to achieve perfect balance and symmetry.
The Bovet Battista Tourbillon
This Bovet Battista Tourbillon is inspired by the Pininfarina Battista, one of the most powerful Italian fully-electric cars. It features asymmetrical two-tone blue dials. These dials showcase Battista's Triangolo pattern forming the number "90" – a nod to the Battista Anniversario and Pininfarina's 90-year heritage. The construction of the Battista Tourbillon creates a highly three-dimensional appearance, with every part of the movement and its complications clearly visible from the face of the timepiece, the exhibition caseback, and the exposed sides.
Aperto 1
The Aperto 1, released in 2024, means ‘open' in Italian. Combining the art of skeletonising and meticulous finishing with cutting-edge materials, this timepiece boasts a thoroughly futuristic aesthetic. Encased in the brand's patented Amadeo convertible case, the Aperto 1 features scalloped sides to reduce weight and enhance its sleek profile. The minimalist construction extends to the hand-wound movement that generates a reserve of a jaw-dropping seven days.
ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
Bovet developed a fresh movement, dubbed calibre 15BMPF09-OW, exclusively for their Bovet x Pininfarina Aperto 1 timepiece. This calibre comprises 219 parts, with 38 jewels, operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. Engineered as an open movement from scratch, it showcases remarkable craftsmanship. Each element, including the in-house crafted balance wheel and regulating organ, is prominently displayed and impeccably finished to haute horlogerie standards. Its remarkable power reserve extends to an impressive 7 days, totalling 168 hours.
