The Bianchet B1.618 Grande Date in its azure iteration represents cutting-edge horology with a refreshing aesthetic. This contemporary timepiece features a 44mm tonneau-shaped case crafted from lightweight carbon fibre composite, with striking blue accents that create a sophisticated, technical appearance. The openworked dial showcases an intricate architectural design, with a complex web-like structure revealing the movement beneath. The prominent grande date display at 12 o'clock offers excellent legibility, while blue-accented hands and markers provide elegant contrast against the dark mechanical backdrop. The symmetrical skeleton design creates an engaging sense of depth and mechanical intrigue. At its heart beats a hand-wound mechanical movement, featuring the sophisticated grande date complication and delivering an impressive 90-hour power reserve. The movement's contemporary finishing, visible through both the dial and sapphire crystal caseback, complements the watch's modern design language. Water-resistant to 100 metres, the timepiece is fitted with a light blue technical fabric strap with black rubber inserts, secured by a carbon fibre buckle.

About the Bianchet B1.618 Grande Date Collection
Bianchet, an independent watch brand famous for its tourbillon watches, introduced Flying Tourbillon B1.618 Grande Date as their second creation in 2023. By earning a nomination for the prestigious GPHG awards under the Tourbillon category and winning the Best Start-Up Watch at the International Temporis Awards the same year, Grande Date hammered home the watchmaking genius of the brand. These models retain the unmistakable aesthetics of the maison while introducing a practical complication to the brand's repertoire of highly complex watches.
Features
Akin to the previous Bianchet watch, Grande Date also utilises the mathematical principles of Fibonacci's Golden Ratio. Therefore, the collection brings the signature tonneau case and a proportionately designed tourbillon movement. The case measures 43mm in width, 51mm in length and 14.35mm in thickness and is made of Bianchet's carbon fibre composite called titanium-dust-high-density-carbon. Adding a touch of fun to the case is the use of bright hues, blue, green, red, orange and more, on the gasket and crown. A Bianchet Grande Date watch comes with a natural vulcanised rubber strap matching the colours on the case.
Movement
Within the case is Bianchet's in-house flying tourbillon calibre, which has been designed and finished to the highest haute horology standards. The composition of the movement is truly outstanding, with various parts assembled in a unique fashion to fit the idea of the golden ratio. Sitting at 12 o'clock upon a curved titanium bridge is the big date complication, and right opposite it at six is the tourbillon escapement. Created at the Bianchet workshop in La Chaux de Fonds, the movement, with all its complexity, bolsters the watch's claim of 5000G shock resistance and 100m water resistance.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
Bianchet watches use a 60-second flying tourbillon movement produced in their Neuchâtel workshop. Inspired by the golden ratio, the movement’s architecture with curved and spiralled bridges is the watch’s biggest highlight. The bridges, mainplate, and tourbillon cage are made of titanium, making the movement extremely resistant to magnetic fields. Its tourbillon cage is held on one side and rotates on ball bearings at the six o'clock position. Finally, the movement operates at a frequency of 21,600bph and has a power reserve of 90 hours.
