Arnold & Son has a certain affinity towards the moon or probably the realistic representation of celestial bodies. Be it the Perpetual Moon or the Globetrotter, Arnold & Son strolls through these hyper-realistic timepieces with intricate detailing. In 2021, Arnold & Son launched the Luna Magna collection during the Watches & Wonders. The Arnold & Son Luna Magna collection featured one of the largest 3D moon phases on a wristwatch.

Features

Taking a cue from the night sky, the Arnold & Son Luna Magna is equipped with a three-dimensional moon of 12mm, making it one of the largest 3D moon phases. The phases of the moon are precise to the astronomical levels and are displayed on an aventurine glass. The three-dimensional moon is studded at 6 o’clock and the dial represents a clear night sky. The timekeeping duties are handled by a white lacquered sub-dial fitted at 12 o’clock with Roman numerals. One timepiece that exudes the Haute Horlogerie skills of Arnold & Son is the Luna Magna Ultimate I. A jewel-studded piece, it features an 18 kt white gold case with 112 baguette-cut diamonds on the bezel. Inside the dial, the 3D Moon is fitted with 161 diamonds and 161 sapphires.

Movement

The Arnold & Son Luna Magna is equipped with the A&S1021 calibre. A manually wound calibre, the A&S1021 offers a power reserve of 90 hours and a moon phase indicator on the back. The precise movement requires a one-day correction every 122 years, an achievement that speaks volumes of the brand’s acumen.
