Backdrop

Since 1989, Luminox has been creating timepieces for the United States Navy Seals. To commemorate its passion for the military and its hardware, the brand decided to launch the Luminox P–38 LIGHTNING® collection. The collection is named after a fighter aircraft that was prevalent during the second world war and was called the Lockheed P–38 LIGHTNING®. The Lightning was responsible for almost 90% of reconnaissance photos taken over Europe. One of the first multi-role fighters in the world, the P-38 was versatile and agile. Taking its inspiration from that aircraft, the Luminox P–38 LIGHTNING® collection wades its way through the power dynamics of being an agile and versatile watch.

Features

One glance at the Luminox P–38 LIGHTNING® and one can derive the three Rs that define the DNA of the brand and those are rugged, reliable, and robust. A GMT by heart, the Luminox P–38 LIGHTNING® displays the second-time zone through a small central hand pointing at the 24 hours marker inside the inner dial. What makes it more of a reliable watch is the addition of Tritium inside its minutes and hours hands. Tritium helps in providing constant luminescence for up to 25 years. Apart from this, the timepieces also feature a polished bezel to further accentuate the ruggedness of the watch.
