History
In 2009, Oris decided to launch a tool watch specifically designed for professional divers and named it the Oris ProDiver collection. The collection took its inspiration from the 1965 Divers and equipped the ProDiver with robust features.
Features
The Oris ProDiver is more functional than a timekeeper. A robust diving tool, the collection is equipped with dual time zones, date, and a 24-hour indicator. The Oris ProDiver is tested to 1000 meters and this is ensured by a screwed-down bezel. To add to the robustness of the collection, the ProDiver is equipped with a titanium case of 49mm. Coming to the dial, the ProDiver features a GMT which is marked by a small arrow hand pointing towards a 24-hour indicator below the index markers. Whereas, the date window is fixed at the 3 o’clock marker. At the 9 o’clock marker is the small seconds sub-dial, this small seconds sub-dial is used to count down the decompression stops.
Movement
The Oris ProDiver collection is fitted with an automatic called the Oris 748. The 748 is based on the Sellita SW 220-1 and offers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours and vibrates at 28,800 vph.
