Frederique Constant is known for creating mechanically sound timepieces coupled with modern trends and technologies. Encompassing complications such as heartbeat, tourbillon, date, moon phase, and clocks, the brand had to bring a sense of elegance and simplicity into its hangar. This was bolstered by the introduction of the Frederique Constant Classics collection. A collection that defines the elegance of a simple dress watch but also highlights the brand’s craftsmanship.
The Art Deco
Inspired by the timepieces from the 40s, the Classics collection is a home series with different case shapes. Art Deco Oval and Art Deco Round are two timepieces under the Art Deco series. Equipped with Roman numerals, the Art Deco series dons a guilloche dial and lozenge hands. The series is equipped with two case shapes, oval and round. Another series inspired by the Art Deco movement is the Carree series. Taking its inspiration from the watches with rectangular cases from the 40s, the Carree series is equipped with both quartz and automatic movement. The automatic iteration also features a heartbeat window at the 12 o’clock marker.
The Heart Beat
The affinity the brand has towards showcasing its movements is immense and this is done by the Heart Beat window at the 12 o’clock marker. The Classics Heart Beat Automatic is fitted with the in-house FC-310 automatic movement. Another series of timepieces featuring a Heart Beat window is the Classics Heart Beat Moonphase. Fitted with a moon phase at the 6 o’clock marker, the Heart Beat Moonphase also features a Date Pointer denoted by an arrow hand.
The Classics
Inside the Frederique Constant Classics collection, there are a few series that possess classic watchmaking traditions such as sword hands and index markers. The collection also features a dual timer called the Classics Quartz GMT and Classics Automatic GMT that displays the second time zone by an arrow hand. Adding complexities to the collection, Frederique Constant installed it with the Quartz Chronograph. The Quartz Chronograph features three sub-dials at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock markers. The series also features a Triple Calendar variant where the day/month counter is fixed at the 12 o’clock marker and a date pointer that displays the date with an arrow hand.
Business Timer
For people who tend to keep everything on the go, the Frederique Constant Classics Business Timer is a suave addition to the wrist. With various features such as day, date, week, moon phase, and month, the Business Timer has quite a busy dial. The series features a day and date sub-dial at the 9 and 3 o’clock marker, respectively. Whereas, the moon phase is fixed at the 6 o’clock marker. The month or week is pointed by an arrow hand.
