History
The Carl F. Bucherer is a family-owned brand and has been for generations. It is known for creating timeless classics and it was important for them to cherish their heritage. In 1956, Carl F. Bucherer launched the Bi-Compax chronograph. This Bi-Compax was a tribute to the Bucherer’s family car, the Lincoln Cosmopolitan. The Bi-Compax has revived again in 2019 along with the Heritage Tourbillon Double Peripheral inside the Carl F. Bucherer Heritage collection.
The Bi-Compax
Taking inspiration from the Lincoln Cosmopolitan’s instrument console, the Carl F. Bucherer Bi-Compax complies with the heritage of the brand’s family car which was recently restored to all its glory. The chronograph on the 3 o’clock marker is used for displaying seconds and at the 9 o’clock is the 30-minute chronograph. The date window is fixed at the 12 o’clock marker and the month window is placed between the 4 and 5 o’clock marker. The Bi-Compax series is also equipped with a tachymeter on the outskirts of the dial.
The Heritage Tourbillon Doubleperipheral
It is the sense of keeping the heritage alive that led to the development of the Heritage Tourbillon Doubleperipheral. The Heritage Tourbillon is a limited edition Manero with an engraving of the city Lucerne on the movement. Apart from the engraving, the watch is also home to a tourbillon that is not fixed over the main plate or a bridge but rather on a peripheral ring. This peripheral technology makes the movement lighter and thinner. Whereas, the dauphine hands and index markers are a reminder of the 20th-century watches produced by the brand.
