In 1860, Edouard Heuer founded the Heuer Watch Company, which was purchased in 1985 by Tag Holdings to become Tag Heuer. The watch brand was soon recognized for its accuracy and workmanship. The tradition continues to this day as seen in the Carrera Chronographs. In 1963, Jack Heuer, the present Chairman of Tag Heuer designed the first Carrera named after a Mexican road race - the Carrera Panamericana. Tag Heuer celebrated its 50th anniversary last year in 2013 by launching a new collection of Carreras, one of which is the CV201AH.BA075
The Carrera Calibre CV201AH.BA0725 is a 16 Day Date Automatic Men’s Watch. It features a stainless steel case of 41 mm with a stainless steel bracelet that makes it durable enough for everyday use and a black aluminium bezel with a tachymeter scale. It has a black racing dial. The polished steel hands with a luminescent strip enable easier reading in the dark. Minutes and seconds are printed on the outer rim. The dial has a red seconds hand and three sub-dial counters - 2 hours at 6 o'clock position, 30 minutes at 12 o'clock position and seconds at 9 o'clock position. The case window is fitted with a scratch resistant sapphire crystal and the solid case back has the image of legendary race driver Juan Manuel Fangio.
The functions of the device include chronograph, day, date, hour, minute and second. Further, the device is water resistant to 100 m, which is suitable for snorkeling and swimming. It has a balance frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4HZ) and a power reserve of 42 hours.
TAG Heuer’s Carrera Collection was first launched in 1963 and had a very simplistic design containing just the registers and applied markers on the dial. This collection soon went on to become one of TAG Heuer’s first ever ranges of automatic chronographs and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013 having brought out new models every decade since it was introduced to the world.
The Carrera is one of Tag Heuer’s shining trademark ranges of Chronographs. The sleek and sporty finish checks off large and easy to read hour markers while greatly accentuating the luminous hands. The design also comes with a TAG Heuer logo at the crown with a Carrera marking on the dial. The Carrera’s stainless steel strap adds to the powerful look that embodies this series. Fabric, titanium and leather are also available as strap options. The anti-scratch curved sapphire crystal and double anti-reflective treatment allows for the wearer to use the watch with more freedom without fear of scratches or lack of visibility.
This collection provides water-resistance up to 100 metres. Chronograph counters feature stopwatch and countdown functionality. A date window at 6'o clock or 3'o clock gives you a holistic view of time. Powered by an advanced automatic movement, this collection is the epitome of reliability and precision.
