OMEGA was founded by Louis Brandt in 1848. The company's headquarters are located in Biel, Switzerland and is now owned by the Swatch Group. Over the years, OMEGA has been favoured by Britain's Royal Flying Corps and the American Army, and has been the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932.
The famous “Griffes” or claws, and striking dial of the Constellation collection dominate the design of this timepiece. It has a warm brown dial with a date window at the 3 o’clock position. The dial is protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The 35 mm stainless steel case is fitted with a stainless steel bezel which has engraved Roman numerals on it. The matching stainless steel bracelet complements the Doric look of the bezel. The round case shape and the familiar engraved star at the 6 o’clock position, which are characteristic of the collection, complete the refined look of the watch.
The elegant looking watch has been certified as a chronometer and includes a date feature as well. The timepiece is powered by the Co-Axial calibre 2500, which is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. The self winding mechanical movement has a power reserve of 48 hours and comes with rhodium finish, which is a noteworthy feature of this Swiss masterpiece. The watch is water resistant up to 100 meters and has a warranty period of 2 years.
OMEGA has always been the top choice of famous personalities. Its brand ambassadors include George Clooney, Angelina Jolie, Prince Williams, Daniel Craig and Abhishek Bachchan, to name a few.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
