The Constellation Manhattan was launched in the year 1982 and exhibits beautiful timepieces. It is the first collection launched by Omega. Soon after its launch, the collection garnered huge popularity among connoisseurs across the world. With striking dials and beautiful colours, the timekeepers look graceful. In 2009, the collection was further revamped merging the lovely design elements with great technical expertise to suit the taste of modern day women.
Elegantly crafted, the Omega Constellation Quartz 27 mm 18.104.22.168.02.002 model features a silver dial, which comes ensconced in a 27 mm stainless steel case. Engraved with silver toned indexes acting as hour markers, the dial also showcases hour hands with a uminescent fill, which allows you to view the time even in the dark. The silver bezel is perched on the stainless steel body and has Roman numerals etched on it acting as hour markers. Besides, the bezel also has the patented “Griffes” or claws, which are common to all timepieces of the Constellation collection. The watch is presented on a stylish stainless steel bracelet, which offers you with a secure fit.
Crafted using sapphire crystal, the case window gives the watch rigorous protection rendering it shatterproof and scratch resistant. Moreover, the anti reflective coating of the sapphire crystal allows you to view time even in bright sunlight.
The watch comes equipped with one of the most advanced mechanisms, Omega’s calibre 1376, the precision quartz movement. The rhodium plated finish of the movement enables smooth functioning reducing friction drastically. It has an astonishing power reserve of 41 months. You can indulge in a pleasurable swim wearing the watch as it has a water resistance of 100 m. Furthermore, you can go diving or snorkelling while wearing the watch.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
