History
Co-Axial escapement became a serious challenge to the Swiss escapement when introduced in 1999. It was the first new escapement in the industry in 250 years. The first Co-Axial movement however, was launched in 2007 and are among the best series-produced mechanical watch movements in the world.
Design
Elegant lines in the classical mould make the Omega De Ville Annual Calendar 431.10.41.22.01.001 a unique timepiece. It has a very attractive two tiered black dial with polished steel hands and dial markers. At 3 o’clock, you can find two slots that show month and date. The case of this watch has a diameter of 41mm and is made of polished stainless steel.  There is a scratch resistant sapphire crystal covering upfront to protect the dial as well as to provide better visibility. The case back is transparent, allowing you to see the complicated timepiece mechanism in motion. Holding the case is a stainless steel bracelet with alternate polished and brushed links that adds to the classic touch of the watch.
Features
Ticking inside the Omega 431.10.41.22.01.001 is a self winding movement with Co-Axial escapement – the caliber Omega 8601. As it belongs to one of the best series produced mechanical watch movements in the world, you get to enjoy benefits such as less friction, greater mechanical efficiency and outstanding chronometric performance. All these advantages help in less frequent servicing of the watch. This particular movement has an impressive power reserve of 55 hours.
