Product Description
Design
The Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon à Quantième perpetual takes sophistication to new heights with a pink gold case of 42 mm diameter and a thickness of 12.4 mm. The watch is crafted with a resistance of 5 bar/50 metres under water. A benignly classic silvered dial is set with a velvet finish and appliquéd hour-markers to complete the look. The hands carry out the Dauphine tradition followed in the Grande Tradition collection. The straps are made of alligator leather.
Features
The Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon à Quantième perpetual 500242A combines a unique flavour of skilled watch-making heritage and a contemporary outlook to craft a delightful and entirely hand crafted automata that is highly sought after. Remarkable technical performance is displayed in the titanium tourbillon cage with self winding calibre-the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 987. It also houses a high inertia and high frequency balance, an oscillating mass mounted on ceramic beads that beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour backed by 48 hours of power reserve. For watch aficionados that desire models big on technical functions and details, this illustrious piece is a must have. It contains the perpetual calendar with the day, month, date and year carefully placed for great legibility as well as the moon phase indicator and the tourbillon juxtapositioned to create a perfect harmony between all sub-dials.
Interesting Facts
The Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon à Quantième perpetual is widely admired and discussed for its two-level construction and dual complication. The timepiece is enlivened by the pace of the two opposing rhythms; the slow rotation of the perpetual calendar and the balance beating at eight vibrations per second. Some of the wheels borne by the perpetual calendar will take almost a 100 years to complete one revolution. Also noteworthy is the Silicon escapement, performance and reliability that this watch offers. The complex parts have been crafted using silicon by a special manufacturing technique due to its light weight and sturdy nature. The new ‘Chronometer 1000 Hours’ test has been performed on the finished models as a measure of chronometric reliability.
