Trilobe Une Folle Journée, Blue

Trilobe released Une Folle Journée in 2022, building on the success of their last two celebrated collections, Les Matinaux and Nuit Fantastique. The name roughly translates to 'a wild day' in French, and the design juxtaposes this playful name with state-of-the-art, sophisticated construction. Une Folle Journée is assertive in its design sensibility, unlike their earlier elegant editions. It marks the first Trilobe watch, where the movement is visible through the case. Right after the launch, the Une Folle Journée Black Edition was nominated in the men's category for the prestigious Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) 2022 and has garnered attention for its design and mechanical dexterity.

Features

Une Folle Journée expands on Trilobe's distinctive rotating-ring timekeeping system, where three rings rotate to display the hours, minutes, and seconds. A red marker at the six o'clock position indicates the hours and minutes, while the seconds ring is positioned centrally, spinning prominently above. These rings are supported and positioned over nine pillars connected to the mainplate, giving the mechanism a floating appearance.

The Folle Journée transcends traditional watch-wearing, resembling a piece of wrist-mounted conceptual art. The collection features conventional 40mm cases, often crafted from titanium and rose gold. Furthermore, the watches all feature contrasting tones with timeless colour options, showcasing the brand's sophisticated design style. Finally, adding to the orb-like display of the watch is the domed crystal.

The X-Centric³

The X-Centric³ movement was specifically designed for the Une Folle Journée collection. Made with traditional Swiss watchmaking tradition, the X-Centric³ was designed and ideated in France with an aesthetical approach. Equipped with a micro-rotor, the automatic mechanical movement has a power reserve of approximately 48 hours while vibrating at 28,800vph.
