About the Oris Artix GT Collection
Founded in 1904 by Paul Cattin and Georges Christian in Holstein, Switzerland, Oris started from humble beginnings but have become one of the top independent watchmakers with key milestones like creating their escapements in 1938 and launching their first automatic watch in 1952. Despite challenges like World War II and strict Swiss watch laws, Oris kept moving forward, introducing iconic models. Oris have been deeply connected to motorsport since the 1970s, starting with the launch of the Chronoris chronograph, their first auto-themed racing watch. Their motorsport legacy continued through partnerships with F1's Williams and Audi Sport. The Artix GT collection, launched in 2016, builds on this legacy, combining Oris' rich history with modern performance and design.
Design
The Oris Artix GT collection is celebrated as one of the best 21st-century designs from Oris, blending the brand's traditional complication design with a modern, avant-garde case. This steel sports watch collection is notable for its bi-rotating bezel with a ceramic insert and a distinctive rubber edge, facilitating accurate and fast readings. The collection includes various models such as the Oris Artix GT Skeleton, Oris Artix GT Chronograph, and Oris Artix GT Day-Date, each offering unique design elements and functionalities while maintaining the collection's sporty and elegant aesthetic.
Features
All the Oris Artix GT watches, including the Skeleton, Chronograph and Day-Date versions, are powered by automatic movements. While Artix GT Skeleton features a skeletonised SW200 Sellita movement with a 38-hour power reserve, Artix GT Chronograph boasts a 48-hour power reserve. Artix GT Day-Date features a small date window at six o'clock also provides a 38-hour power reserve. All these watches have 100-metre water resistance and are mostly paired with soft leather strap.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The powerhouse at the heart of most Oris watches is the automatic calibre 733. This calibre, based on the Sellita SW200-1, drives popular watches within collections such as Aquis, Artelier, Big Crown, and more. The Oris 733 powers the central hands and a date function. This 4.6mm thick mechanism boasts a decent reserve of 38 hours and beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The smooth functioning of the movement is ensured by 26 strategically placed jewels.
