About the Omega Seamaster Collection
The Omega Seamaster, celebrated for its innovation and precision, boasts a rich history intertwined with exceptional quality and finesse. Introduced in 1948 to commemorate Omega's centennial, the Seamaster was heavily influenced by the demands of wartime and built with an emphasis on functionality and durability. The core of this advancement was using a rubber O-ring gasket laying the foundation for the watch's future as a diving and exploration icon. In 1957, Omega introduced the Seamaster 300, a pivotal moment in the collection's history. This model, alongside the Speedmaster and Railmaster, formed the iconic "Master" trio. Today, the Seamaster collection continues to evolve, encompassing a variety of series that cater to different tastes and needs. Among them are the Aqua Terra, Diver 300, and Planet Ocean series.
Collection Breakdown
Honouring Omega's nautical lineage Aqua Terra is inspired by sailing with its distinctive striped dial and wedge-shaped hour markers. It combines style and functionality, making a great choice for a dress watch. Omega further exemplify their expertise in crafting durable and exquisite dive watches through the Diver 300M and the Planet Ocean collection.
The Planet Ocean, in particular, rapidly became a benchmark in the world of dive watches, with its robust construction and exceptional water resistance at 600 metres and holds the prestige of Master Chronometer certification. While extensively preferred for aquatic adventures, Diver 300M has gained cult status owing to its iconic association with James Bond. It's a collaboration that has been well capitalised by the brand offering patrons of both the brand and the franchise exclusive timepieces to relish. Central to this collection is the Seamaster Heritage, a carefully curated anthology that reinterprets Omega's most iconic timepieces for the modern era, maintaining the spirit of the originals while incorporating contemporary advancements in watchmaking.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
Omega's calibre 2500 is a notable movement in the brand's history. Introduced in 1999, it was the first Omega movement to feature the Co-Axial escapement, developed by renowned watchmaker George Daniels. This technology significantly reduces friction in the movement, improving accuracy, and longevity. The calibre 2500 is based on the ETA 2892-A2, a well-respected automatic movement, but with Omega’s enhancements. It operates at 25,200vph, a slight adjustment from the standard 28,800 vph, optimising it for the Co-Axial escapement. Over the years, the movement underwent various improvements, resulting in different versions such as 2500A, 2500B, 2500C, and the most refined, 2500D. This movement has been used in several Omega collections, including the Constellation, Seamaster and De Ville, contributing to Omega’s reputation for precision and innovation.

The blue bond 007 was what I wanted since the mid 90's when Golden Eye came out. This is the most iconic watch in the entire line - up. Even though, this particular model has somewhat wholly been replaced with the ceramic bezel SMP, this holds it's forte. The HEV makes it a rugged looking do anything watch. This is perhaps, the only watch, whose praise I start with how comfortable it is to wear, the bracelet is like a baby gripping your wrist ever so lightly, and at more than 150grams the bracelet hides its weight so well, it's almost like a leather band! The co-axial escape should now be considered a horological evolutionary step forward and should be taken up by other watch manufacturers because it increases the accuracy manifold. The red seconds-sweep and the Omega C3 lume make it glow bright throughout a movie in the hall and throughout the night right up to the morning! But, then, how would you ever forget the iconic waves that Omega has now done away with? They're as classic as Elvis, as pure as a remote island nobody knows about off the coast of Indonesia, and as beautiful as the pin striped Aqua terra 8500. This watch was good enough for James bond, let's see what your life can throw at it!
