About the MeisterSinger Vintago Collection
The MeisterSinger Vintago collection is a tribute to the minimalist design language of the 1960s, brought to life with a modern sensibility. Introduced at Baselworld 2019, the Vintago stands out for its blend of vintage aesthetics and functional clarity. This collection embraces the concept of time as an uncomplicated, elegant experience, embodied in its signature single-hand display and streamlined design.
Design Language And Essence
The Vintago’s design elements highlight simplicity and purpose. The 38mm brushed stainless steel case suggests the clean lines characteristic of mid-century watchmaking. With its refined proportions and understated details, the Vintago is a timepiece that appeals to those who appreciate vintage influences coupled with contemporary execution. A striking feature of the collection is its altimeter-style date display at the three o’clock. This unique, bow-shaped window displays five dates simultaneously, with the current date indicated by a chromed dot. Such a design, true to MeisterSinger’s philosophy, ensures that the information on the dial is logical and cohesive.
The Vintago collection comes in four dial colour variations: opaline white, ivory, blue, and black. Each variant brings its own character while maintaining the collection’s core design philosophy. The ivory dial, with its subtly aged appearance, appeals to those drawn to vintage charm, while the black and blue dials offer a more modern take, providing contrast and depth. The opaline white version underscores the minimalist ethos of the collection, showcasing the purest form of its design. Completing the look is the exhibition caseback, a feature that juxtaposes the Vintago’s minimalism with the intricate mechanical movement it houses. The sapphire crystal window provides a view of the automatic movement, often a decorated Sellita SW200-1, adding a touch of modernity while paying homage to the craftsmanship that defines mechanical watchmaking.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The Sellita SW200-1 is a reliable automatic movement often compared to ETA’s 2824-2, with a robust design and efficient performance. It features a 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) frequency and a power reserve of 41 hours. With 26 jewels, the movement ensures smooth operation, and its bi-directional ball-bearing rotor aids in winding. The SW200-1 also includes a quickset date, hacking seconds, and is hand-windable. The movement is protected by an anti-shock system (Novodiac or Incabloc) and operates with a Nivatflex mainspring. Manufactured in Switzerland, this movement powers numerous respected timepieces, providing an economical alternative to other calibers.
