History

Aguste Agassiz founded the company back in 1832. Agassiz’ collection of watches became extremely popular among the locals and he soon began marketing his innovatively designed time pieces in distant markets where he received an equally overwhelming response. He passed the legacy to his nephew Ernest Francillion who concentrated on improving the designs and quality to bring in greater business. It became a part of the Swatch Group in early 1980s.

The Longines Master Collection model # L2.666.4.78.6 has a 42 mm round stainless steel case covered with the scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a transparent case back that too is shielded with the tough sapphire crystal material. This simple yet elegant watch for men comes with a beautiful silver barleycorn dial with black Arabic numeral hour markers and blue leaf shaped hands. It has a stainless steel bezel and matching bracelet. The brands emblem placed under the 12 o’ clock position adds to the watch’s overall appeal.

The watch has calibre L693 self winding mechanical movement that beats at 28’800 vibrations per hour. It provides a power reserve of 2 days. This timepiece includes a stylish power reserve indicator window between the 5 o’ clock and 7 o’ clock position. It also includes the date feature. The date window rests at the 3 o’ clock position.
