History
Finding its genesis in the year 1832, with Auguste Agassiz as its founder, Longines was set up in Saint-Imier, in competition to the then leading Swiss watch making brands. Beginning its journey as a pocket watch selling brand, the year 1867 saw the establishment of their first factory, securing a long term brand growth and stability. With gradual entrance into the international market, Longines was able to engineer a mechanized form of production, with an aim of offering a product that guaranteed reliability as well as accuracy. The start of 1913, defined a new phase for the company with the introduction of its very first wristwatch series and a Quartz clock.
