History
After gaining a niche audience for its Classic collection, Laurent Ferrier decided to power through another graceful design. The brand presented the Laurent Ferrier Square collection in 201. Winning the “Horological Revelation” category in the 2015 GPHG, the Square collection spearheaded the brand’s philosophy with finesse.
Features
Built upon the legacy of the Classic, the Square collection defines the DNA of the brand. The comfortably designed cushion-shaped case offers an insight into the arena of fine watchmaking that the brand has excelled at every now and then. The Square collection features a simple dial with a small seconds function at the 6 o’clock marker. With a multitude of dial colours, the collection offers a rather elegant entry into the world of fine watchmaking.
Movement
Powering the Square is the automatic movement, FBN229.01. A movement displaying the mechanical complexities the brand has to offer, the movement features a micro-rotor which is fixed between the main plate and the bridge. The FBN229.01 provides a power reserve of approximately 72 hours while vibrating at 21,600 vph.
ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The FBN229.01 movement from Laurent Ferrier is an automatic movement made in-house by the brand. This automatic mechanical movement derives its power from a pawl-fitted micro-rotor which is fixed between the main plate and the bridge connecting the rotor. The escapement is made with silicon with a double direct impulse on the balance spring and a Silent shock block protection system for the micro-rotor. The FBN229.01 provides a power reserve of approximately 72 hours while vibrating at 21,600 vph.
