About the Jacob & Co. Fleurs De Jardin Collection
Essence
In a quest to find the most unadulterated beauty, we tend to come across the most complicated ones. This is the case with the Jacob & Co. Fleurs De Jardin collection, a piece of complicated art with a touch of femininity to it. Based on the famed Astronomia calibre, the collection is differentiated by brilliantly shining gems and colour setup on the dial. The concept behind the creation of these timepieces was to recreate a garden filled with flowers on the dial.
The Setup
The collection is based on the same setup as the Astronomia with a flying tourbillon, a time display, and various gems such as topaz, sapphires, rubies, and diamonds fitted over the proprietary differential that fully rotates on its axis every 10 minutes. Apart from the setup, the tourbillon is finished in the shape of a butterfly, whereas, the gems are cut in the shape of flowers, perfectly recreating a garden of precious gems like the Jacob Cut diamond in the centre. The three satellites fitted with precious stones or diamonds rotate clockwise, whereas, the base of the dial with four precious stones or diamonds rotates anti-clockwise. This complete setup is a perfect maze of amusement that leaves the wearer magnetised by the beauty of the timepiece.
Movement
The movement in the picture is the JCAM31. Offering a power reserve of approximately 48 hours, the movement is made with 444 components. Based on the Astronomia Solar, there is a proprietary differential fitted that makes the base of the movement anti-clockwise.
ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The calibre JCAM31 is a hand-wound mechanical movement developed by Jacob & Co. for their Fleurs de Jardin timepieces. Defined by its complexity and artistic design, this calibre features 444 components, a power reserve of 48 hours, and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). Calibre JCAM31 comes with a vertical rotating platform that completes a full rotation every 10 minutes, holding the watch's floral components and a double-axis flying tourbillon. The tourbillon carriage is positioned on a satellite arm, rotating once per minute on its axis. Whereas some flowers rotate counterclockwise every 10 minutes and others spinn every 60 seconds. Further, the platform bears an orbital dial with a patented differential system.
