Jacob & Co. Casino Tourbillon

Backdrop

In the wake of the successful reception of Astronomia, Jacob & Co. exercised its unparalleled creativity in renewed ventures. Many of these ventures were explicitly targeted at drawing new horizons in watchmaking, such as fitting a music box or a full-fledged working W12 engine on a wristwatch. Today, Jacob & Co. has fired the engine of unique watches by fitting a fully functional Casino table on a wristwatch. Called the Jacob & Co. Casino Tourbillon, the collection is a perfect example of the brand’s stride towards fine craftsmanship.

Features

Previously, this casino table was fitted on an Astronomia. Now, Jacob & Co. decided to dedicate a watch that just showcased a casino table. An actual watchmaking complication, the roulette table has 37 pockets, 1 green, 18 red and 18 black. The table is put in motion by a pusher fitted at the 8 o’clock marker. When pushed the table turns and a white ceramic ball randomly settles on a number. The roulette table is random and offers a portable view into the world of casinos. The dial is made out of a single block of Onyx with legible hands enclosed in an 18K rose gold case.

Movement

Powering this movement is the Caliber JCAM51. This manual-winding movement is also the first Jacob & Co. to be equipped with a tourbillon that is visible on the case back. The carriage of the tourbillon is engraved with ‘Jacob & Co.’. The JCAM51 offers a robust power reserve of approximately 72 hours while vibrating at 21,600 vph. Moreover, the movement is protected by the Incabloc shock protection system.
