Named after their great-grandfathers, the brand focuses on making luxury attainable. A major milestone was the introduction of their in-house calibre FC-910 in 2004, which highlighted their commitment to quality craftsmanship at affordable prices. Since then, Frederique Constant have developed over 30 in-house calibres. Frederique Constant is a high end luxury watch maker based in Geneva. Their principal goal is to produce fine watches that are not only visually appealing, but technically pure as well, at relatively affordable prices. FC has never cut down on quality with their watches been rigorously tested. The FC Classics Carree 315MS4C26 is a stunning watch that stands out. Its rectangular stainless steel 47 X 31mm case holds the fabled FC-315 automatic movement. The silver dial has a central Côte de Genève motif flanked by an applied hour and minute marked ring. The dial also has a prominent exposed “heartbeat” movement at XII o’clock along with a date window at VI o’clock. The beautiful part of the exposed movement is the manner in which the gilded date wheel and decoration complete the central ring without breaking it. The date wheel is a visual treat as the gilded dates are actually cut out silhouettes, appearing as such in the date aperture as well as through the transparent case back. The black Breguet hands match the case shape and complement the black Crococalf leather strap.
