About the Doxa SUB 300 Carbon Collection

History

Since the advent of the SUB 300 collection during the 1960s, Doxa has built itself as a brand that defines itself purely to the whims of the marine world. Be it the water-resistance capabilities or finding new materials to provide a better diving experience, Doxa has built upon its legacy repeatedly. Through that legacy, Doxa launched the SUB 300 Carbon in 2020.

Features

The Doxa SUB 300 Carbon is a melting pot of past and present. With a design that dates back to the 60s and a material that defines the 21st century, the SUB 300 collection offers the best of both worlds. The Doxa SUB 300 Carbon features a 42.5mm case made with forged carbon with an internal titanium casing. Forged carbon is different from carbon fibre, where carbon fibre is woven, forged carbon is made by compressing pieces of carbon under pressure. This technology was first introduced by Lamborghini and is still used by the brand to this day, especially inside the SVJ series. Apart from the materialistic classifications, the SUB 300 Carbon is also fitted with a date window at the 3 o’clock marker.

Movement

The SUB 300 Carbon shares the same movement as the SUB 300 and SUB 200. A COSC certified movement, the ETA 2824-2 is highly accurate and is protected by a pressure-resistant titanium casing.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT

Sellita, once a reassembly company, is now the second-largest movement maker in Europe. They are known for producing the renowned calibre SW200-1, an automatic movement that serves as a popular alternative to the calibre ETA 2824-2. It is widely used by many watchmakers as the main and base calibre. The SW 200-1 powers essential watch functions such as the three central hands display and date, boasting a 38-hour power reserve and operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. However, these specifications can be adjusted by brands to meet their specific requirements.
