About the Baume & Mercier Hampton Collection
History
Baume & Mercier has a rich history of producing timepieces for centuries. It was in the 1920s that the brand decided to foray into the women’s wristwatch market with rectangular dials, making the brand one of the first ones to do so. In the 1940s, the brand launched the Baume & Mercier Hampton with a unique domed glass topped over a rectangular case. The Baume & Mercier Hampton collection has kept its place inside the brand’s inventory since the 40s.
Features
The Baume & Mercier Hampton collection features a rectangular case with integrated lugs. With a simple design inspired by the Art Deco movement, the collection also features a few complications such as a day/night indicator, dual time, and small seconds. Inside the Hampton equipped with two time zones, the second time zone is fixed at the 6 o’clock marker. Inside the sub-dial is also a day/night indicator. Adding a sense of luxury to it, there are few timepieces inside the collection that feature either a mother-of-pearl dial or a vertically stacked diamond-studded bezel.
Hommage à Pierre Soulages
In a bid to celebrate the legacy created by legendary painter Pierre Soulages, Baume & Mercier decided to release a limited edition timepiece inculcating his paintings on the dial. The dial features the signature strokes of the painter especially in his painting, ‘Peinture’. Limited to just 102 pieces, the timepieces are a rare breed as much as Soulages paintings.

The brand is new in India but in the international market its one of the most recognized names. The watch features a highly precise chronograph feature that allows you to calculate speed v/s time! This is definitely my next buy :)
