About the Arnold & Son Grandes Complications Collection
The Advent of Grandes Complications
Amongst all the haute horlogerie collections by Arnold & Son, one that is mechanically unparalleled is the Grandes Complications. It is an amalgamation of various limited-edition timepieces celebrating the watchmaking prowess of Arnold & Son. Grandes Complications watches, such as the Double Tourbillon or the Constant Force Tourbillon, were earlier part of different collections. But while those lines were to be discontinued, such unique and complicated timepieces had to be preserved. Thus, the idea of Grandes Complications was born.
Features
Under the Arnold & Son Grandes Complications collection, the Double Tourbillon series is fitted with two dials placed at 12 and six o'clock. Whereas, the two tourbillons are set at three and nine o'clock markers. The sub-dial of the Double Tourbillon is white lacquered and placed over a dial made of rare materials like Jadestone. Inside the Constant Force Tourbillon series, the small seconds are placed between the seven and eight markers and the tourbillon is fitted between the four and five. Also, with the Tourbillon Escapement Sapphire, the tourbillon is fixed at six o'clock.
Movement
The movements in Arnold & Son Grandes Complications watches vary, for the collection comprises different timepieces. Nevertheless, each timepiece is powered by a technically enhanced and sophisticated manual-wound movement that ensures accuracy and mechanical wonder never cease to exist.
ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
From the family of marine chronometers, the Arnold & Son Constant Force Tourbillon approaches the world of chronometry in a trifold manner. The Constant Force Tourbillon has a robust manual-winding movement, the A&S5119. The A&S5119 is known for providing constant torque which is further translated to accurate timekeeping even when the power reserve reaches the end of its cycle. Moreover, it provides a power reserve of approximately 90 hours while vibrating at 21,600 vph.
