Backdrop

With the advent of the industrial revolution, elegance took a step back, even in Germany, the land of baroque. But in the heart of Germany, there was a city known for creating modest timepieces that exuded the fine watchmaking of the Germans. This city was called Glashütte, a small city inside the Free State of Saxony. Tutima in its modern version decided to preserve this idea of creating simple yet precise instruments of time with the Tutima Glashütte Patria collection.

Features

The elegance of the Patria collection speaks to the volume of work that has been ingrained into these timepieces. With round and well-polished cases, the Patria is fitted with cathedral hands either index markers or Arabic numerals. Furthermore, in most of the Patria, the small seconds sub-dial is gracefully placed at the 6 o’clock marker. A rather peaceful iteration of the watch is the Patria Power Reserve with a small power reserve indicator fitted between the 10 and 8 o’clock marker. The Patria collection also offers a rather elegant dual-timer called the Patria Dual Time. The second time is fitted brilliantly inside the small seconds sub-dial.

Movement

Tutima Patria is fitted with a minutely detailed movement called the Cailber 617 with traditional engravings. This detailed movement is one of the key features of the Patria as it contains a Breguet hairspring with a special terminal curve. This hairspring helps the 617 vibrate at a frequency of 21,600vph. While offering an accurate measure of time, the Tutima 617 calibre also offers a power reserve of approximately 65 hours.
