History

Back in the 1940s, there was a particular movement that created the essence of geometry. The Art Deco movement paved a way for geometric proportions and clean lines. This is when Girard-Perregaux decided to dive into the movement with a timepiece called the reference 5420 in 1945. This rectangular watch was heavily influenced by the Art Deco movement. Now, paying homage to that watch, the Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 collection equipped itself with the same rectangular proportions.

Features

With a symmetrical silhouette and clean lines, the Vintage 1945 is a true classic. Moreover, the integrated lugs and a curved case are comfortable on the wrist. The Vintage 1945 collection is equipped with features such as small seconds, moon phase, and date. Few of the timepieces inside the collection are also equipped with a skeleton dial. The Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 is available in a case size of 36x35mm making it one of the largest rectangular watches on the market. With dauphine hands and a polished case, the moon phase is fitted over the 6 o’clock marker and within the sub-dial is the small seconds indicator. The Vintage 1945 is also equipped with a date window at the 12 o’clock marker made with two thin disks.

Movement

Equipped with the in-house GP03300 automatic movement, the Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 collection offers a power reserve of approximately 46 hours and vibrates at a frequency of 28,800 vph. This automatic movement is also present in other collections such as the 1966 and Laureato.
