Raymond Weil launched his company in 1976. From childhood, he had an uncanny passion for watches, stopping regularly at shop windows to admire them. Another passion of his was music, which he considered to be a harbinger of harmony amongst people. He fused both his passions to bring about the unique nature of the brand. The company has repeatedly launched collections, which have musical connotations. It has also launched limited edition pieces in honour of artists or to commemorate landmark years. The Frank Sinatra collection, for instance, has been launched in order to mark the centenary year of the famous artist. Similarly, limited editions have been launched for charity and award shows as well. Limited editions have also been launched for several other artists to mark their achievements.
The Toccata 5588-ST-60001 is an absolutely charming and attractive time piece by Raymond Weil for men. The first eye catcher is the large, shiny grey dial, with a diameter of 42 mm, and thickness of 7.89 mm. Contrast is added to the dial, with the help of the silver toned hands, indicating the hours marked by silver indices. The minutes are marked in the interval between each hour marker.
The watch has a stainless steel bracelet, with a stainless steel folding clasp with double push security system. It is finished with a lacquered RW push/ pull crown. This time piece by Raymond Weil is bold and sensual.
The Toccata 5588-ST-60001 is water resistant up to 50 m. It has the signature rounded sapphire crystal, which adds sturdiness, and prevents glare and scratches. The watch has Quartz movement, with a movement calibre height of 2.5 mm. It performs the date function, through a window, positioned at 3 o’clock.
The Toccata collection by Raymond Weil draws inspiration from the legendary music virtuoso that acts as a channel for the composer’s deft skill. As a brand that is motivated by music by its own confession, Raymond Weil strives to achieve that perfection in composition through this collection. Minimalistic design with a refined elegance is the characteristic of this line, which provides masterpieces for men as well as women. Initially started in 1996, the line was discontinued, till it was re-launched in 2014 to provide the audience with a piece truly worth owning.
The simplistic make of watches from the Toccata collection sets them apart from other contemporary models. With a perfectly round shape, the case is available in 29, 39, and 42mm. It is constructed from stainless steel with yellow gold PVD coating in some models. The dial is available in shades of white, black, and blue. The hands of the watches from this sophisticated range are extremely sleek and streamlined, in a material matching that of the case. All models have minute and hour hands that are perfectly aligned to the time markers, marked by Roman numerals, applied indexes, and in some ladies’ versions, with radiant gems. The crown has corrugated edges for comfortable adjustments. Strap options include stainless steel with double push folding clasps or calf leather motif with the traditional buckle.
All watches from the Toccata collection operate on Swiss made quartz movements for precise timekeeping. The window located at the 3 o’clock positions of watches from this line allow easy viewing of the current date. The dial is protected by scratch proof sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating on both sides. Raymond Weil’s impeccable finish and advanced technology make this line of watches an advancement in horology, ideal for the pickiest of watch connoisseurs.
