Raymond Weil was established in 1976, and has climbed up the ladder of success in the international watch market in no time. It has made a name for itself in the category of high end luxury watches. It brings a unique fervour to watch making. Each collection by Raymond Weil has a different story attached to it. Most of their collections are inspired by music or their own family. The Tango is one such collection, which has musical connotations attached to it. Tango is a kind of music, on which a sensual dance, by the same name, is performed. The Tango collection is known to have rhythmic coordination in its designs. A signature of the collection is the screws, usually six in number, that adorn the rim of the dial.
Tango 5591-ST-30001 is a full stainless steel piece. The case has a diameter of 39 mm, and thickness of 7.89 mm. This Tango piece has the characteristic six screws along the rim of the case, and a white inset dial. Hours are marked through white on silver indices, and minutes are marked on an inner circle.
The case rests on a weave finish stainless steel bracelet, which has a deployable folding double security clasp. It is a timeless timepiece, and a source of envy for all. The watch has a pull-push crown with the RW logo inscribed on it.
Tango 5591-ST-30001 has Quartz movement, with a movement calibre of 2.5 mm in height. It is water resistant up to 100 m. It is also treated with sapphire crystal on the front, making it sturdy as well as preventing scratches and glare. The watch can perform the hour, minute, second, and date function. Date is displayed on a window positioned at 3 o’clock.
Erol Ozan once said, “dancing is creating a sculpture that is visible only for a moment.” Raymond Weil adds a new dimension to this concept by crafting sculptures that are passionate, sensual, glamorous, and last for a lifetime. The Tango collection draws inspiration from the rawest dance form of all, Tango. Watches from this line give men and women a chance to observe a Tango between the two attributes Raymond Weil is renowned for- artistry and technique. Launched in 1995, the collection continues to mesmerize and dazzle even almost twenty years later.
The distinguishing characteristic of timepieces from the Tango collection lies in the six exposed screws embedded on the bezel, adding a raw element to the line. The round and rectangular shaped cases are made from stainless steel for ethereal glamour, and may be coated with yellow or rose gold PVD. Certain watches from the women’s version come inlaid with gems on the bezel in addition to the screws, to depict the glamour and lustre that comes hand in hand with being the female partner of the Tango. Watches from the Tango are available with dials in varying shades of white, black, and blue, with a centre having intricate workings that display Raymond Weil’s immaculate crafting skills. The time intervals are marked with Roman numerals, indexes, and gems.
The quartz movement of the Swiss made watches from the Tango collection ensures accurate timekeeping for the connoisseur. With single or dual date windows, certain chronograph editions of the men’s watches come with three subdials for seconds, 30-minute, and 12-hour intervals. The dial is protected by sapphire glass crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. The stainless steel bracelets are available in two toned or pure options with double push folding clasps, while some watches have calf leather motif straps with traditional buckles.
