Raymond Weil has an unprecedented reputation in watch-making since 1976. The Swiss watch-maker entranced the market with his art and it was not long before that his brand took the European market by storm, only to become one of the most applauded international brand in luxury watches. His vision is the “union of design and technicality”, which makes a watch “captivating and interesting.” Music and cult collections are Raymond’s signature.
“Urbane and highly chic, created in honour of free spirits”
The collection is a dedication to the man behind the craft, Raymond Weil, himself. It embodies freedom from all restraints, free-spirit, and self-interpretation. The name is a subtle suggestion of the independence of an artist, sculptor or composer, at work and the passion of the Swiss watch-maker while putting together the components of his creation. The collection was lauched in 2007, evolving over the years, but never losing its essence.
The Freelancer 7730-STC-20041 makes a bold statement with its stainless steel black dial on a pure black leather belt. The case size is of 42 mm diameter, and has a thickness of 13.7 mm. The exquisite piece is characterised with a black dial, with indexes, and sapphire. It provides a stainless steel folding clasp with double push security, emblematised screws, and day, date window at 3 o’clock. Four variations of the watch is available – Black dial on a brown genuine leather strap, rose gold PVD plated hands on leather strap, Urban black, and Steel black dial on steel strap.
The hard, virile design has a mechanical chronograph with automatic winding and 46 hours power reserve. It is water resistant to a depth of 100 m, with a case back screwed with sapphire crystal. The crystal gives the timepiece sturdiness and is anti-glare on both sides.
In 2007, Raymond Weil launched the magnificent Freelancer collection of watches. The name of the collection is a tribute to the uninhibited spirt of the artist, the maverick and the pioneer who expresses his creativity impassionedly and freely. The Freelancer collection includes watches for men and women and delights them both in equal measures.
The Freelancer Range of watches from Raymond Weil is extremely diverse in terms of the number of styles and designs it offers. These watches come in stainless-steel or titanium cases with mirror finish. Select models offer a gold plating in rose or yellow for a touch of opulence. The strap is made in either immaculately stitched leather or polished stainless steel, some watches featuring a dual combination of steel and gold. The case window is fabricated in sapphire crystal glass which is anti-reflective on both sides and hence offers a clear view of the time, while zealously guarding the case against wear and tear.
The Freelancer Range from Raymond Weil was the first amongst the watches to be brought out by the firm to have a visible balance wheel. A small aperture in the dial allowed the user a view of the moving mechanical part of the watch. It also marked the beginning of a mechanical range of watches for the ladies from this brand. Further enhancing the utility of the watch, the Freelancer series of watches has a luminescent dial, which allows viewing of time even in the dark. The more affluent watches of the Freelancer series come with an automatic chronograph feature that can be employed according to the user’s requirement. These watches are water-resistant up to a depth of 100 meters or 330 feet.
