In 1917, Rado was started by three brothers Firtz, Ernst and Werner Schlup in a small Swiss town called Lengnau. In the beginning, they only produced watch movements in the name of Schlup & Co. In 1957, the company produced its first watch under a new brand name Rado. This marked the beginning of an exceptional success story in the history of watches. The brand founded by the brothers created the first ever scratch proof watch in 1986, which stunned the world with its durability.
The Rado Integral model R20963152 is a unique combination of the tactfulness of high technology with the purity of graphic linearity. It comes with a classy black dial that represents prominent stick index hour markers in steel ensuring sunlight legibility. Also, the steel hour, minute and seconds hands allow you to view the time with accuracy even in low light conditions. The watch features a sturdy black 31 mm square case made of stainless steel and high tech ceramics that gives it a minimalist and sleek design. Showcasing steel borders on two sides and a broad black segment in the middle, the high-tech ceramic bracelet imparts the watch a modish and sporty look. The clasp of the bracelet fastens the watch securely to your wrist and also enables ease of wear.
A scratch resistant sapphire crystal case window attached with a closed case back protects the dial from regular wear and tear and other potential destructive agents. The chrome edge-to-edge metallized sapphire crystal, bracelet and case appear in a parallel arrangement.
Equipped with 8 jewells and powered by the Swiss Quartz movement, ETA E61.111, this watch is famous for its accuracy. The watch also displays a date window positioned above 6 o’ clock. Being water resistant up to 50m, the internal parts of this watch do not easily get damaged by water.
Rado was formed in 1917 as, Schlup and Co., which produced watch movements only. With the launch of its collection of watches in 1957, under the name Rado, it amazed the world with its innovations. Today with 470 skilled workers the brand produces half million watches every year.
First produced in 1986, the Rado Integral was the first Rado watch in high-tech ceramic. A revolution in the watchmaking industry, it fuses the purity of graphic linearity with the finesse of high technology, seamlessly integrating a metallised sapphire crystal, case and bracelet within parallel lines. This new collection remains true to the original but is new for 2014.
Rado has won the Good Design Award for its innovative Hyperchrome Ceramic Touch in 2013 and 2014 by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design.
