Rado was formed in 1950 as Schlup and Co., a company that produced watch movements only. With the launch of its line of watches in 1957 under the name Rado, it amazed the world with its innovations. Their belief in the motto: “if we can imagine it, we can make it, and if we can make it, we will,” inspired them to create an exclusive brand.
The Rado Hyperchrome MODEL#: R32025152 is a perfect combination of metallic brilliance and matte finish texture. It comes in a case made of monobloc high tech ceramic and stainless steel that is known for its hardness and colour stability. The metallized black dial of the watch embodies large stick hour markers for enhanced legibility. Also, the hands exhibiting luminous silver coating allow you to view the time with accuracy even in low light conditions. Made of stainless steel, the bezel has a black push in crown attached to it for adjusting the time. The robust bracelet, made of high-tech ceramic, showcases a thick black metal strap in the middle bordered with a steel coloured segment that adds to the elegance of this time piece. Measuring 8 inches in length, it is size adjustable. Its folding clasp fastens the watch securely to your wrist and also makes wearing and removing easy.
The scratch resistant sapphire crystal case window protects the dial from regular wear and tear. Moreover, the transparent skeleton case back of the watch allows you to enjoy its intricate movements.
The Rado Hyperchromeis powered with the Swiss made automatic movement, with power reserve of 42 hours. Being water resistant up to a depth of 100m, it can be worn while bathing, swimming or snorkeling. The dial also features a seconds counter positioned above 6 o’clock, providing the small seconds function. A date window placed at 3’o clock displays the date.
In 1917, in Switzerland, three brothers—Fritz, Ernst and Werner Schlup—opened a clockwork factory called Schlup & Co. From its humble beginnings, it is this same company that we today known as Rado. In 1957, exactly 40 years since its inception, the company changed its name to Rado Uhren AG and presented its first watch collection.
The monobloc case of the ceramic watches in this new Rado family represents a breakthrough in technology as well as a step forward in design. Lightweight, extremely comfortable and eye-catching, the Rado HyperChrome is the ultimate every day all occasion timepiece.
Key milestones in Rado’s impressive history so far include the world’s first scratch resistant watch, pioneering high-tech ceramic in watchmaking, the monobloc injected ceramic case and the introduction of touch technology in a ceramic watch. The brand was also the first to use plasma high-tech ceramic in the world.
