With the launch of the legendary Seamaster collection in the year 1948, OMEGA became one of the tough and reliable watch brands confirming its position among the professional sailors and divers of the world.
The stylish OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 220.127.116.11.01.003 men’s timepiece is designed with the intention to pay homage to the brand’s dive watch heritage. The eye-catching black ceramic unidirectional rotating divers’ bezel is encrusted on a 42 mm polished stainless steel case. The unique bezel is crafted with brushed ribbed edges, grey ceramic fill and meticulously embossed satin finished steel numbers as well as indexes. For a stunning contrast, the matt’ black dial is etched out with blue luminescent filled appliquéd polished steel index hour markers, along with appliquéd metallic orange coloured markers for the 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions. Further enhancing the appeal of the dial are its sword-shaped polished steel hands – whereas seconds and hour hands come with blue luminescent fill, and minute hands come with green luminescent fill. There is also a helium escapement valve placed on the edge of the case at the 10 o’clock position. The visible bridges and rotor are embellished with a distinct “arabesque” wave design finish.
Making use of the automatic chronometer, along with the OMEGA Calibre 8500 that beats at 25,200 vph, the watch is an embodiment of reliability and accuracy. It also contains 39 jewels and is powered with an impressive power reserve of 60 hours, thanks to its mounted series of twin barrels. The watch’s outstanding movement, which is resistant to shock and environmental disturbances, owes its allegiance to the “Si 14” silicon balance spring. In addition to these, the CO-Axial escapement contributes to greater durability and stability. Also, the CO-Axial escapement has less friction and reduces the necessity of lubrication. This Seamaster Planet Ocean timepiece carries an immense water-resistant mechanism to a depth of 600 metres. A dome-shaped scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass case renders the dial with shatter proof mechanism.
Launched in the year 1948, the Omega Seamaster Collection was inspired by the waterproof watches made toward the end of World War II for the British military. The watches in this collection have acclaimed worldwide fame due to their combination of exceptional stability and awe-inspiring designs. These watches are ideal for serious underwater sports and adventures.
This collection features several amazing series under it. First introduced in 1957, the Seamaster 300 Master Co-axial features the same dark dial, symmetrical case, big numbers and hands, and lighter indexes like its predecessor. The Planet Ocean 600M Collection showcases several watches with stunning designs and exclusive Co-axial movements. The Aqua Terra 150M Gents’ collection is easily recognizable because of its “Teak Concept” pattern on the dials. The Seamaster Aqua Terra Ladies’ Collection was the first to be equipped with the cutting-edge anti-magnetic Omega Master Co-Axial calibres. Available in lacquered black or blue dials, the Diver 300M Collection showcase white skeletonized hour and minute hands. The Ploprof 1200M is equipped with Co-axial caliber 8500 and is water-resistant up to 1200 meters. The winding crown located at the 12 o’clock position, surrounded by the two chronograph pushers at its sides; give the Bullhead collection its unique name.
In the James Bond movies since the release of GoldenEye in 1995, the character has consistently worn an Omega Seamaster. The Omega brand ambassador, Michael Phelps, an Olympic swimmer and multiple times gold medallist, wears the Seamaster Planet Ocean.
