The Weekend GMT Atlas is a 50-piece collaboration between Perrelet and Dubai-based atelier IFL Watches, built around one differentiator: every dial is individually hand-painted, and no two are identical. The starting point is the brand’s existing Weekend GMT; the collaboration with IFL, known for bespoke dial work, has pushed it into limited-edition territory.

The Dial: Where The Weekend GMT Atlas Becomes A Journey

The individually hand-painted dial, crafted by IFL’s artisans, captures the idea of travel through a finely rendered compass rose at the centre — a navigation symbol that predates GPS by centuries. Around it, the hour track unfolds into a painted panorama spanning dolphins arcing through clear water, snow-covered Arctic mountains, lush tropical rainforests and the Pyramids of Egypt. Slender baton markers and a discreet date window at three o’clock ensure legibility without interfering with the artwork. A satin blue ring carries the 24-hour GMT scale, read off a dedicated hand tipped in white and outlined in red.

Weekend GMT Atlas: Versatility and Wearability

Since its 2019 introduction, Perrelet have retained the Weekend GMT line’s proportions, leaving the dial to do most of the talking. The 39mm stainless steel case, finished in alternating polished and brushed surfaces, measures 9.61mm thick with bevelled lugs, a fluted personalised crown, and 50m of water resistance. Two strap options ship with the watch: a seven-link-per-row steel bracelet and a blue alligator-pattern leather strap, swappable without tools via Perrelet’s quick-release system.

Inside, the automatic calibre P-401 runs at 4Hz or 28,800vph with 25 jewels and a 42-hour power reserve. It drives a true dual time function: central hands for local time, a triangular red-tipped GMT hand for the second zone on a 24-hour ring. A screw-down caseback with a transparent porthole reveals circular-grained bridges and a rhodium-plated oscillating weight whose decorative motif echoes the dial’s artwork and carries the individual limited-edition number.
