Cartoons, diamonds, meteorites, jigsaw puzzles and even sugar. But pornographic content on a dial? Yes, erotic timepieces are a 17th-century concept of pocket watches that first seduced Chinese collectors, even before the European market got wind of it. Bold scenes on the dial were handcrafted in polychrome enamel or gold by skilled artisans, in combination with inventions such as the minute repeater to ‘animate’ love-making scenes. Carrying forward this titillating legacy are Swiss watchmakers Perrelet. The Perrelet Turbine Erotic collection, launched in 2022, rather coyly, sneaked racy illustrations on the sub-sphere of the dial that lies under the brand’s most important patented technology, the rotating 12-blade turbine construction. Jump to 2025. Perrelet launch four Turbine Erotic watches, which like the 2022 versions, feature sexually explicit illustrations created in the Japanese Hentai tradition of adult manga comics. All four iterations are available in a limited edition of 99 pieces.

A Symphony Of Collection Traits And New Tweaks: The 2025 Perrelet Turbine Erotic
The new Perrelet Turbine Erotic quartet of timepieces, like their 2022 counterparts, display the patented Turbine technology from 2009—a feat in kinetic horology. Only when this propeller is activated do the blades rotate at high speed, lifting the ‘veil of censorship’ to reveal what lies on the dial’s sub-sphere. This time around, three of the dials reveal copulating couples and the fourth one celebrates pleasuring oneself. These illustrations allude to a form of erotic Japanese manga called Hentai, which apart from the explicit graphics, showcase certain abnormalities in the characters. This could be enlarged breasts or thighs, as evident in the Perrelet imagery. Adding to these racy enigmatic scenes is the colour palette of different shades of grey with black hue, highlighted with slivers of red. After the spinning stops, the sub-sphere is once again shrouded in darkness, as the 12 blades take their original positions corresponding to the 12-hour markers and shroud the dial in darkness—a well-kept secret in plain sight.

All four 2025 timepieces have undergone slight design modifications. For instance, the 2022 variants have oversized stainless steel cases, measuring 44.5mm. These 2025 versions, however, feature black DLC grade-2 titanium cases dialled down three sizes to measure 41mm; they are still big dial watches, but do not overpower the wrist. Meanwhile, the water resistance has received a leg up, from 50m to 100m.
Certain design signatures have carried forward in the Perrelet Erotic quartet. The dial, modelled on the slightly altered Turbine Evo watches, incepted in 2019, features 12 black anodised aluminium blades. This propeller with five tungsten counterweights spins wildly at the slightest wrist movement. The case is fluted, attached to triple lugs for enhanced grip, and a crown engraved with the brand logo ‘P’. The four Erotics feature black rubber straps with pin buckles.
A Reliable Movement
As with all Turbine Evo watches and previous Erotic references, the new Turbine Erotic quartet also runs on the in-house manufactured Calibre P-331-MH. This COSC-certified self-winding movement beats at 28,800vph, and offers a 42-hour power reserve when fully wound. It is viewable from the porthole of the open-worked caseback. On display are movement parts such as the rhodium-plated, circular-grained bridges and monogrammed rotor, personalised with the Perrelet logo.
