May We Recommend
NOMOS Glashütte have added sparkle to two of their classic collections—Tangente and Orion—with the new timepieces, Tangente Neomatik Doré and Orion Neomatik Doré. The minimalist, Bauhaus-inspired brand design and minimalism, rarely ventures into gold, but lent a new dimension to its dress watches with the ‘Doré’ (French for ‘Gold’) editions. Both the Nomos variants cater to those seeking premium, yet understated timepieces for daily wear.

Enhanced By Flecks Of Gold: The Nomos Doré Editions
The Tangente Neomatik and Orion Neomatik Doré feature subtle, effective golden accents. True to their minimalist NOMOS roots, the golden details enhance the dial’s elegance without overwhelming the timekeeping layout.

On the 35mm Tangente Doré, the gold accents highlight the slender hour, minute, and seconds hands. Retaining their Bauhaus-inspired identity, the Tangente features black Arabic numeral hour markers on a whitish silver-plated dial. These monochrome tones form a sharp contrast, and constantly draws attention to the golden hands. The 36.4mm Orion Doré goes a step further. Along with gold-tone hands, it features embossed gold hour markers on the dial. These details add depth, giving the Orion a polished, cohesive look. The silver-plated dial and the subtle gleam of gold make the Orion Doré an ideal dress watch for formal or celebratory occasions.
Both Neomatik Doré versions feature matching gold-plated hands, sub-seconds, and ‘Neomatik’ label under the Nomos logo at 12 o’clock, adding a discreet touch of luxury.
Slim Movement With A Barrage Of Finishes
Powering both the Nomos variants is the ultra-thin, in-house DUW 3001 automatic calibre. At just 3.2mm thickness, the DUW 3001 is one of Nomos’s slimmest automatic movements. Still, it boasts a 43-hour power reserve. This high-precision movement includes Nomos’s proprietary swing system, DUW regulation system, and 37 jewels to ensure accuracy and reliability. Visible through a sapphire crystal case back, the DUW 3001 reveals fine Glashütte-style finishing, including blue screws, striping, perlage, and gold-filled engravings.

The Tangente and Orion Neomatik Doré models feature brown Horween leather straps that may require a break-in period but will age beautifully, adding character to these already refined watches.

How is the watch's water resistance rating of 5 ATM defined, and what does it mean for practical use?
A 5 ATM (50 metres) water resistance rating means that the watch is splash-proof and safe to wear while washing hands or in light rain. However, it’s not designed for full immersion or swimming. For everyday wear, this level of water resistance is generally sufficient
