Pastel shades both soothe and uplift with their soft tones, celebrating a hint of colour melted in white. Raymond Weil latches onto this trajectory by expanding their Tango line with a quartet of Classic Quartz models. Attempting to redefine feminine and minimalistic tastes, these stainless steel Tango Quartz watches take the pastel route, flaunting dials in powder pink, baby blue, pistachio green, and floral lavender.

Got The Moves Like Tango
Be it their chronograph or time-only iterations, the Raymond Weil Tango line, like the South American ballroom dance, thrives on seamless design and smooth finish. The Classic Quartz takes forward this design ideology. The pastel-hued dials are rendered classy with a glossy sunray finish, which blossoms from the three-hand co-axial.
As if intentionally positioned to follow the trajectory of the pattern of line comprising the finish are the 12-hour markers: baton indices on the pink and lavender dials and Roman numerals on the green and blue dials. Three-fourth quarters of these time display indications—hour markers and hands (except the sweeping seconds hand)—are filled with the luminous Super-LumiNova to encourage legible reading in low-light conditions. A date aperture with a white background occupies the three o’clock hour marker, in line with the fluted crown monogrammed in the ‘RW’ logo and sitting between two arched protectors. Transparent sapphire crystal seals off the dial from entry of foreign elements, and together with the sturdy build this model promises 300m of water resistance.
Moving to the bezel, the instant signature markers here are the six screws corresponding even-numbered hour markers at two, four, six, eight, 10 and 12 o’clock. Acknowledging the screwed-down placement are six indentations in the same spots on the rim of the closed caseback. Other elements are the central logo in large font encircled by the watch’s highlighting attributes. The 30mm case of 7.35mm thickness prove sufficient to house the quartz movement.
Braided Symphony
Instead of a simple integrated steel strap, the Raymond Weil Classic Quartz range goes a step further. Like the case, it has a stainless steel bracelet, which has a intricate five-row design with a mix of satin and brushed polishes, for a reliable fit and visual appeal. Providing added security is the bracelet’s stainless steel folding clasp with double-push security system.
Technicalities aside, the combination of steel and pastel hues aesthetically never goes out of style.
