SpotlightGlints Of Gold And Rhodium: The New Nomos Minimatik Date 39 Trio
An enlarged case size of 39.5mm and a date window framed in chamfered gold define the three Nomos Minimatik Date 39 new watches, among their allegiance to the brand’s Bauhaus design aesthetic, of course

Until mid-March 2025, the Minimatik line from the German independent watchmaker Nomos Glashütte was resting on the shoulders (or should we say lugs) of just two 35.5mm dial variants, conceived in 2015. Both dress watches reflected the brand’s Bauhaus design aesthetic coupled with contrasting timekeeping features such as two red hands, an outer minute track, a small seconds sub-dial at six o’clock, and alternating Arabic numeral hour markers with minimalist dot indices. A decade later, Nomos decided to shake things up for Minimatik, by extending the line with three new references titled Nomos Minimatik Date 39. These variants feature an enlarged case size measuring 39.5mm, perhaps to accommodate an additional date window. Out of the three variants, one features a dark blue dial and two have galvanized white silver-plated dials.

Bauhaus Magic: Nomos Minimatik Date 39
The 2025 Nomos Minimatik trio carries forward the same dial arrangement as of the 2015 variants—two hands, alternating indices, seconds sub-dial—but adds new common traits. This includes a rectangular date window positioned at three o’clock outlined in chamfered gold, and an integrated small seconds sub-dial (instead of a recessed version) at six o’clock.

While overall the watches retain the stainless steel case material and a slim profile, a marked difference is the jump in case sizes from the (original 2015 variants) 35.5mm to 39.5mm. The Minimatik Date 39 Blue is a deep blue dial variant that features contrasting rhodium-plated hands, matching hour markers and logo. Among the galvanised white dials, the Date 39 features rhodium-plated hands, black hour markers and logo, while the Date 39 Gold enchants with gold hands and black hour markers. All three versions feature domed bipartite sapphire crystal glass and come attached to a Horween genuine shell cordovan black leather.
