The Ludwig Neomatik für Ärzte ohne Grenzen 36.4mm or 38.5mm: Dial And Case
The highlight of this special edition is its clean and clutter-free dial, with a small seconds sub-dial at six o’clock. Against the white enamel background, the dial features a striking red 12 that symbolises the urgency of humanitarian aid and honours the tireless work of the organisation’s teams around the world. Also, the small inscription at six o’clock reading ‘Ärzte ohne Grenzen’ (as Doctors Without Borders is known in Germany) pays tribute to the organisation, while also reminding one that it’s time to help. Additionally, it showcases the signature Roman numerals of the Ludwig collection and oxidised black hands, embodying poise and elegance. Surrounding the dial is a 36.4mm or 38.5mm stainless steel case, with a fine bezel and discreet lugs, providing a water resistance of up to 50m.
“Larger sums that are not tied to a specific purpose make our work easier to plan and also enable us to help in crisis areas that are not widely reported in the media,” said Christian Katzer, the Executive Director of Doctors Without Borders Germany in an official release, adding “EUR 125,000 could help provide therapeutic food to treat 4,460 acutely malnourished children—for example, in northern Nigeria and Sudan, where we provide vital emergency aid in response to severe nutritional crises.”
