The Glashütte-based watchmaking brand Nomos launched the Club Campus series in 2017, with three timepieces featuring clean and clutter-free dials. Aimed at young watch aficionados—such as fresh graduates, hence the ‘Campus’ in the name—it was (and, is still) marketed as a line designed to celebrate milestone moments, like graduations. Over the years, the brand infused the series with distinct dial colours, ranging from bright orange and pink to red and purple. Now, they are adding two more colourways to the fun and lively Club Campus series—yellow for the ‘Starlight’ edition and dark blue for the ‘Night Sky’. Available in two case sizes, 36mm and 38.5mm, the two new editions follow the same design code as their predecessors, while further expanding the colour palette. According to the brand, they represent self-confidence and joie de vivre, befitting all occasions and dress codes.
The Club Campus Starlight And Night Sky
Both editions, the Club Campus Starlight and Night Sky come in two case sizes—36mm and 38.5mm. The 36mm Club Campus Starlight, featuring a yellow dial, measures 8.2mm in height and 47.5mm in length. On the other hand, its larger counterpart at 38.5mm, features the same height, but with a slightly longer lug-to-lug measurement at 48.9mm. The two Night Sky editions share the same case dimensions as the Starlight 36mm or 38.5mm, respectively.
All four timepieces are crafted with stainless steel, offering a water resistance of up to 100m—perfect for a swim.
The Colour Code Of The Starlight And Night Sky
While the yellow and dark blue dials of the Starlight and Night Sky editions, respectively, steal the limelight, the brand have also cleverly incorporated an array of other coloured accents. For instance, in the Club Campus Starlight, both the numerals and indexes on the California-styled dial are outlined in a light orange shade, which contrasts beautifully with the beige Super-LumiNova. Also, its outer minute track with black hashes features purple numerals. On the contrary, in the Club Campus Night Sky, the outer minute track is white, with lavender numerals. In addition, the white lume-filled numerals and indexes are framed by a pink-ish border. Both editions feature a neon orange hand at the small seconds counter at six o’clock.
The Alpha Movement
The Starlight and Night Sky editions are powered by the handcrafted and manually-wound Alpha calibre—Nomos’s first movement. With a diameter of 23.3mm and height of 2.6mm, this movement consists of 17 jewels, and can store an energy reserve of up to 43 hours. The timepieces are available with an option of a solid steel screw-in caseback or a see-through back—allowing for a mesmerising view of the beating heart underneath.
All four models are presented on a grey vegan strap, perfectly complementing the vibrant colourways.
