After maintaining its time-date only silhouette approximately seven years since it was in 2016, the Longines Elegant line has made a significant headway, incorporating the moon phase function in its latest slew of watches. Following the Longines tradition of unveiling multiple versions in one go, the new Elegant additions come in five variants, and are made from diverse materials, dials, indices and straps. Collectively, the new collection substantiates the brand’s tagline ‘Elegance is an attitude’.

Longines Elegant: Tracking The Lunar Cycle

The star element on the newly launched Longines Elegant watches—the moon phase function—is positioned at six o’clock. This sub-dial is a welcome addition, functionally and aesthetically, as it tracks the lunar cycle via a moon against puffy clouds set against a starry night sky. It lends good company to the squarish date aperture at three o’clock. On the matt white dials dotted with Roman numeral hour markers, three o’clock and the top half of six o’clock are eliminated to accommodate these two sub-dials. On the mother-of-pearl dials studded with 12 Top Wesselton diamonds VSSI (superior-quality almost flawless colourless diamond), there is seamless integration of the sub-dials and precious stones as they do not collide with each other. Lastly, the dials of this three-handed watch is complete with the iconic brand logo of the winged hourglass.

Longines Elegant: A Refreshing Multitude Of Choices

Adding to the diversity of options offered for better buying choices, the Longines Elegant dials are encircled within 30mm cases made from either stainless steel or steel with rose gold cap (bezel). These watches have two strap options. Either with integrated metal bracelets matching the metal/s used for the case, and fitted to a triple safety folding clasp or leather straps in two hues—blue or mint-green—fitted to sturdy steel tongue buckles. The new Longines Elegant slew of timepieces run on a high precision L296 quartz movement. To protect the timekeeping elements and engravings, two antireflective sapphire crystals seal the dial and caseback.
