SpotlightReimagining A Modern Classic: Frederique Constant Salmon-Dial Perpetual Calendar

At Watches & Wonders 2025, Frederique Constant introduced a refined take on a modern favourite, the Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture, now boasting a fresh design and an upgraded movement

May We Recommend

Originally introduced in 2016, the Frederique Constant Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture made waves as the most budget-friendly perpetual calendar available at the time. The 2025 edition elevates that legacy, offering improved aesthetics, enhanced performance, and enduring sophistication, all while remaining true to the brand’s commitment to making fine Swiss watchmaking accessible.

At Watches & Wonders 2025, Frederique Constant unveiled the latest evolution of a modern classic — the Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture, now updated with a new design and movement

Founded in 1988, Frederique Constant has become known for delivering exceptional value in the luxury watch segment. With this newly updated Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture, the brand once again demonstrates its dedication to blending heritage, elegance, and mechanical expertise — all without compromising on affordability.

The New Frederique Constant Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture

This year’s model debuts in a 40mm stainless steel case, slightly more compact and refined than its predecessor. The redesigned Classic case features softer curves and slimmer lugs, giving the piece a vintage-inspired silhouette that speaks to quiet elegance. The real head-turner, however, is the salmon-coloured dial,  a shade beloved by collectors for its warm, nostalgic character.

The Watch Guide
With a striking salmon-coloured dial, the minimalist layout includes three subdials for months, days, and the date, along with a Moon Phase display at six o’clock with hand-polished Dauphine hands and vintage-inspired sector markings

This unique dial offers clarity and proportion. Instead of traditional numerals, the watch embraces a cleaner, minimalist look. Three subdials display essential information: months and leap years at twelve o’clock, days at nine o’clock, and the date at three o’clock. A graceful moon phase display at 6 o’ clock completes the perpetual calendar layout. The final touches include hand-polished Dauphine-style hands and slim hour markers encircling a sector-style minute track, a detail that pays tribute to vintage timekeeping design.

What’s Under the Hood?

Driving the timepiece is the Manufacture FC-776 calibre — the 34th in-house movement crafted by Frederique Constant. Based on the reliable FC-775, this newly updated movement offers a robust three-day power reserve, thanks to upgrades made in 2024. Operating at 4 Hz, the movement is in full view through the transparent sapphire caseback. Each watch is regulated in six positions to guarantee excellent timekeeping accuracy under everyday conditions.

What sets this release apart is not just the complexity of the perpetual calendar — a complication that automatically tracks different month lengths and leap years — but Frederique Constant’s continued effort to make such high-level craftsmanship attainable.
