Of course, these latest timepieces from the line are simpler, devoid of any complication apart from the date, as opposed to the chronograph editions seen before this. Additionally, the displays of the Top Time B31 are simple and sophisticated, yet distinctive in just three colourways, with a leather strap or bracelet with each.
The icing on the cake is the very agreeable size of 38mm, which houses Breitling’s first exclusive manufacture three-hand movement the B31.
The Top Time B31’s New Calibre
Of course, like any Breitling watch, the Top Time B31’s calibre is chronometer certified. Helping the COSC-certified accuracy is the free-sprung balance wheel, meanwhile the skeletonised bidirectional-winding rotor of the calibre B31 helps it store a significant power reserve of 78 hours. Further to that, the calibre has undergone extreme tests, equivalent to 16 years of use. These include winding the crown 1,00,000times, ‘34,56,000 weight turns, and 60,000 shocks at 500G’.

The actor, who’s best know for his recent work in Dune Part Two, and his Oscar-nominated portrayal of Elvis Presley in Elvis, has a bright future ahead of him. His youth, screen presence and charm speak to today’s generation, while his dedication to his craft, seen through the diversity in his work, shows promise.

Colourways Of The New Top Time B31
From the face of the collection’s campaign to the face of the watches themselves, the brand have stuck to three colourways only—each featuring contrast between the primary dial hue and the colour of the flange with the minute scale. A ‘racing green’ dial comes with a black flange, blue with white, and white with light blue. The most distinctive, striking and fresh, the third one comes with a light brown leather strap, while the leather straps with the other two have are in hues complementing the blue and green dials, respectively. All leather straps have perforations on the overlays—a standard element in racing straps. Alternatively, each dial hue also comes paired with a steel bracelet as well.
Keeping it simple and limited to three colourways, with strap alternatives, this edition is in line with Kern’s idea of paring down the selection within the brand’s offerings. Yet, these time-and-date Top Time B31 models present something fresh and alluring, quite like the new face of the brand and the collection.
