The Bell & Ross BR-03 range of aviation-inspired watches have tried to replicate the vibe of a cockpit onto the wrist. These Bell & Ross watches have been a hot favourite amongst watch collectors since 2006, courtesy their iconic ’round in a square with four screws’ look. The BR-03 collection is home to several styles and functions, be it the BR-03 Auto, Diver, GMT, or the Chrono. That being said, it was about time for Bell & Ross to drop skeletonised BR-03 versions. At Watches and Wonders 2025, this materialised into not one but three open-worked BR-03 watches—the BR-03 Skeleton Black Ceramic, the BR-03 Skeleton Grey Steel, and the BR-03 Skeleton Lum Ceramic. This marks the entry of the all-new BR-03 Skeleton series, a part of the watchmaker’s ’20 Years Bold’ campaign that recognises the many accomplishments of this iconic square watch. The main theme of the three BR-03 Skeletons is skeletonisation and luminescence, wherein the latest watches are powered by a newly developed in-house movement.

Open-worked Horology With A Trilogy: The Bell & Ross BR-03 Skeleton
The 41mm black ceramic case of the BR-03 Skeleton Black Ceramic features a smoked sapphire crystal over the dial to fully reveal the X-shaped skeletonised movement. The hour and minute hands are also skeletonised and filled with luminous material for legibility in low-light conditions. Then there is the BR-03 Skeleton Grey Steel, which Bell & Ross call a ‘horological machine sculpted in steel’. The whole 41mm steel package makes for a brilliant sports watch, featuring a mix of polished and satin-finished surfaces.
The third in the line-up is the BR-03 Skeleton Lum Ceramic with its futuristic, sci-fi look elevated by a neon-like photoluminescent effect for the open-worked dial. This watch face is cut to follow the contours of the movement’s bridges, revealing the blackened gears through the tinted sapphire crystal. A green Super-LumiNova outline accentuates the cutouts, bringing quickly to mind an illuminated car grille.
All three Bell & Ross BR-03 Skeleton watches are water-resistant up to 100m and can either be paired with a black rubber strap or synthetic fabric strap. In this series, the Grey Steel and Lum Ceramic are limited to 250 pieces each.
A New In-house Movement
Powering the BR-03 Skeleton series is the new BR-CAL.328 calibre—an automatic, three-hand movement. This finely skeletonised engine achieves a 54-hour power reserve.
Each BR-03 Skeleton takes a distinct approach. The Black Ceramic version prioritises pure transparency, the Grey Steel boasts striking metallic finishes, while the Lum Ceramic elevates luminescence on a dial.
