The Deep Raider collection traces back to Favre Leuba’s 1964 Deep Blue, a dive watch that laid the foundation for modern Favre Leuba watches. Since the collection’s reintroduction in 2024, Favre Leuba have been expanding it steadily: the Renaissance line brought stone dials in malachite and meteorite, a Power Reserve model arrived earlier this year, and now the Day Date adds a practical complication and four new gradient dial colours.

The Dials

The gradient treatment is the visual centrepiece. Each dial starts vivid at 12 o’clock and fades to black towards six, finished with a transparent lacquer that gives the surface a glossy, metallic quality. The four colours are salmon, green, blue, and burgundy. Favre Leuba have kept the sandwich dial construction from the Renaissance, with recessed elongated indices cut through the upper layer to expose Super-LumiNova C1 X1 beneath, glowing blue in low light. Rhodium-plated hands include a big-arrow minute hand with a pointed insert and a smaller-arrow seconds hand, both lumed. The Case and Bracelet

The 40mm case in 316L stainless steel carries over from the Renaissance, measuring 12.5mm thick with a 48.2mm lug-to-lug. Brushed and polished surfaces alternate across the case, and the unidirectional bezel has a black ceramic insert across all four dial colours with a 60-minute diving scale. Water resistance is 300m with a screw-in crown. The double-domed sapphire crystal has anti-reflective coating, and the closed caseback is engraved with Favre Leuba’s hourglass emblem and a wave pattern.

The three-link integrated bracelet pairs polished centre links with brushed outer links and fastens with a butterfly clasp. Quick-change end links let you swap to any Deep Raider Renaissance rubber strap without tools, which is a useful touch for owners already in the collection.

The automatic FLD05 calibre beats at 4Hz or 28,800vph with a 38-hour power reserve. Crown operation is simple: clockwise adjusts the date, counter clockwise adjusts the day. The day display can be set in English or German, and the watch remembers your language selection going forward.
