IWC Ingenieur: The Watch for a Revolutionary Leader1:26 pm
On the 15th of August 1947 we gained our Independence from the British rule. This could not have been achieved without the leadership of the founders of the nation. Leadership achieved a revolution with nonviolent resistance and civil disobedience, terms that had previously never been associated with a freedom struggle. It was an achievement not just for the country but for civilian movements all over the world. It paved the way for a new revolution in world politics and friendly international relations between the British Empire and her former colonies.
A revolutionary leader is one who succeeds against all odds, by winning the confidence of one and all. They are the rare men and women who lead by example and are the pillars of modern society. They feature in the recorded history of their time, as those who contributed the most to their state and its people. Some of the qualities that make a revolutionary leader are, a bold and confident personality, matchless integrity, technical prowess, excellent communication, dependability at all times, and the vision to aspire. An exceptional leader wears an exceptional timepiece.
The IWC Ingenieur is the ideal watch for the revolutionary leader. An eye catching design by the legendary Gerald Genta, the IWC Ingenieur is a rugged and sporty timepiece with a technical appeal. A success story since the 1950’s, the watch collection has stood the test of time. Built with a robust combination of titanium, ceramic and rubber – all materials of high integrity and resilience, the IWC Ingenieur collection reflects all those qualities a revolutionary leader must posses – a bold personality, integrity, technical prowess, excellent communication of information, dependability, and the vision to aspire. The IWC Ingenieur is made to adorn the wrists of those capable of leading a modern revolution.
Featured here is the IWC Ingenieur Double Chronograph Titanium, a 45mm masterpiece made with robust titanium, ceramic and rubber. A calibre 79420 mechanical double chronograph movement powers the watch and has a special additional feature in the chronograph for measuring lap and split time. The split-seconds hand can be stopped to record intermediate times while the stopwatch hand continues to run. If the push-button at 10’0’clock is pressed a second time, the split-seconds and stop watch hands are re-synchronized. This allows the wearer to record as many lap times as he chooses.
Ceramic screw heads in the bezel add to the solid construction of the watch. The crown and its protector along with the pushers have a firm rubber coating for a better grip. The rubber coating also adds to the design of the watch. Along with a highly legible dial, with its carefully placed sub-dials, it is a superb display of IWC’s design capability. A bold and rugged black rubber strap makes the timepiece suitable for use in all kinds of environments that a leader may endure on his revolutionary path.
