The hour of horlogerie with Louis Erard Heritage1:05 pm
In today’s day and age where small independent watchmakers struggle to be noticed amidst the who’s who of the watchmaking industry, Louis Erard is one name that has managed to survive and carve a niche for itself, especially in the last one decade. The independent swiss watchmaking brand, founded in 1931, has changed hands and seen numerous ups and downs. Never wavering from the concept of Horlogerie, the brand from Franches-Montagnes has always strived and managed to provide Swiss watchmaking expertise, impeccable quality, and fascinating complications at prices which aren’t hefty. For Louis Erard, luxury is an expression of taste and not a reflection of the price.
Louis Erard at present offers 6 collections, including the Heritage collection for men and women. The grandeur of heritage, sophistication and mechanical movements are the endorsements of the Héritage Collection. It is dedicated to the ardent lovers of Swiss watches and makes Horlogerie accessible to everyone.
Elegance with Excellence
The Louis Erard Heritage collection is for devotees of authentic watches and appreciators of fine workmanship with the finest swiss traditions. The Heritage timepieces are vibrantly alive and act as a discreet reminder of the famous phrase ‘time and tide wait for no man’. These watches are designed classically, making them everlasting pieces that add a discreet touch of glamour to everyday wear.
The Heritage houses more than a machine: because the watch movement commonly used in this collection is mechanical automatic, there is a human touch to the movement. Imagine feeling time turn at the behest of your wrist!
“For Louis Erard, luxury is an expression of taste and not a reflection of the price.”
That Day or that Date
If you ask us, the most useful complication ever invented in watches is the day and date. Even with all the gadgets around us most of us are usually vague about the day and date are we sitting on. Reason enough, we’d say, to get a classic timepiece with day-date functions; the Louis Erard Heritage becoming the perfect choice.
The Louis Erard Heritage with Day-Date is elegant and vintage looking. Its 40 mm steel case gives it a gentleman’s look. The Day-Date complication will always be precise and accurate, but the date will have to be adjusted for every month with days fewer than 31. The watch is water-proof up to 50 meters.
The white dial watch features black Roman markers which exude a timeless elegance that only Louis Erard possesses. The dial has an anti-reflective sapphire glass to improve legibility and resilience. The case back interestingly plays a bit of hide and seek by revealing only a part of the movement. What stands out the most on this stainless steel case back is the French inscription ‘ L’Esprit du Temps’ which means ‘the spirit of time’.
Adding a graceful finishing touch is the good looking calfskin leather strap with Louis Erard engraved on the deployment buckle.
